We are committed to respecting human rights across our operations and value chain. Guided by internationally recognised principles and our internal policies, we strive to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for our Allstars, guests, business partners, and communities. Our human rights approach is embedded across key areas including labour rights, anti-human trafficking, anti-harassment, responsible supply chain practices, and grievance mechanisms.
Nothing matters more to us than the safety and well-being of our Allstars, guests, and communities. It serves as a foundational pillar of our operations and a non-negotiable element of our daily culture.
Our Safety Management System (SMS) Framework
Our dedication to operational and technical excellence is anchored on our Safety Management System (SMS). This system is meticulously designed to prevent incidents and ensure strict regulatory compliance across four core aspects:
Safety Policy
Establishes management's commitment to continually improving our safety record through:
Safety Risk Management
Determines the need for, and adequacy of, risk controls through:
Safety Assurance
Evaluates the continued effectiveness of risk control strategies through:
Safety Promotion
Inspires a positive safety culture across all levels of workforce through:
Proactive Risk Management
AI-Powered Reporting
We utilise RedEye, our safety reporting mobile app that's upgraded with Generative AI to identify, track, and mitigate operational risks in real-time.
Emerging Risk Mitigation
From implementing swift onboard policies to manage emerging lithium battery risks, to conducting specialised training for climate-driven turbulence, we continuously adapt to keep our guests safe.
Holistic Allstar Well-being
We embed mental health and fatigue risk management directly into our safety frameworks, supporting our teams through peer programs and dedicated health resources.
We have always taken pride in being a people-focused organisation. We believe our success is built on the passion and dedication of our Allstars, who consistently go above and beyond in all they do. Our goal is to foster an environment where Allstars can thrive, supporting their growth both personally and professionally.
Recruiting the Right Talent
When welcoming new talent, we prioritise more than just academic and professional qualifications. We value individuals with a strong work ethic – those who are dynamic, innovative, and unafraid to take bold steps, embodying our core value of daring to dream.
Strengthening Our Talent Pipeline
Our proactive talent initiatives set the standard for regional employment and operational longevity:
Securing the Aviation STEM Pipeline
We break traditional industry barriers by building inclusive technical training pathways, successfully accelerating the recruitment and retention of women in flight operations, engineering, and digital roles.
Championing Working Parents & Caregivers
We actively ease the demands of family life by offering childcare and eldercare support, alongside progressive Allstars Care Leave designed to protect work-life balance during major family milestones.
Equal Opportunity
Guided by our Code of Conduct and the UN Women's Empowerment Principles, we enforce transparent, merit-based frameworks that guarantee equal growth and fair pay for all Allstars.
Inspiring Future Regional Talent
We systematically cultivate early-stage interest in aviation and technology through youth outreach, engaging thousands of primary and secondary students via our AirAsia School Takeover initiative.

Well-being
We are committed to addressing systemic gender bias by closely monitoring and assessing our gender pay gap. Other than industry-wide bias with fewer women in aviation, especially technical roles, our employment track record shows no systemic gender bias at employment and in pay scales.
Strengthening Our Ethical Safeguards
We build clear operational controls to enforce ethical business practices across our entire operations:
Anti-Harassment
We believe unequivocally in the rights inherent to all human beings irrespective of race, sex, nationality, religion or any other status. Our approach to human rights is aligned with international labour laws and is highlighted in our Code of Conduct and Ethics. To provide greater clarity on acceptable and unacceptable behaviours in and outside the workplace, our Allstars must complete our Anti-Harassment module.
Anti-Human Trafficking
In aviation, anti-human trafficking is a critical priority where we remain permanently vigilant. Recognising that traffickers actively use airlines as transit routes, we continue to scale up our defenses as our flight operations expand. Through our dedicated #KnowTheSigns e-learning modules and targeted awareness campaigns, we train our frontline teams and Allstars to identify behavioural indicators and execute silent, standard reporting protocols to protect vulnerable individuals.
We recognise the importance of investing in our communities, and we have done so consistently through our philanthropic programmes undertaken by the AirAsia Foundation and active employee volunteerism. By focusing on disaster relief, healthy communities, education, and environmental stewardship, we turn our regional network into a platform for grassroots support.
The AirAsia Foundation is the primary entity managing our social investment strategy. The Foundation provides grant funding and advisory support to purpose-driven social enterprises across Asean, focusing strictly on four core pillars:
Promoting Sustainable Travel
Funding community-based tourism models that protect cultural heritage, keep tourism revenue in rural economies, and turn residents into direct environmental stewards.
Strengthening Climate Resilience
Scaling grassroots programmes in climate-vulnerable areas, focusing on disaster preparedness, safe community-led housing reconstruction, and clean energy access.
Supporting Biodiversity Conservation
Investing in wildlife conservation linked to sustainable livelihoods, funding agroforestry and environmental education programs that incentivise local communities to protect vital ecosystems.
Advancing Human Rights
Championing economic independence and social stability by providing safe employment, training, and resources for vulnerable groups and survivors of gender-based violence.

Humanitarian & Post-Disaster Assistance
As climate change increases the frequency and severity of typhoons and extreme flooding across Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia, we prioritise immediate disaster response. We deliver timely assistance and logistics support to protect communities and build long-term resilience in climate-vulnerable regions.
